Born in Montpellier, France but raised in Guatemala City, Carmen Monoxide created House of Monoxide, the first drag family in Guatemala. After winning a local pageant, she formed the Drag Besties collective, fostering a more creative and accepting drag community in a country where LGBTQ+ people face significant challenges.
